Research Surveys
The Research Department develops, implements, and manages a variety of surveys each school year across the Upper Canada District School Board. These surveys focus on enhancing student learning and achievement, equity and inclusion, and informing human resource practices.
Active Surveys
As part of the Upper Canada District School Board’s (UCDSB) continuing efforts to promote a positive school environment, we are excited to share with parents and guardians the new Amplify Survey. This
work aligns with the Director’s Work Plan 2023-24 under Student Culture where
we continue working to enhance student mental and physical health, and
sense of belonging. The initiative also connects to the Student Improvement & Equity Plan (SIEP). Under
the Safe Schools initiative, every public school board in Ontario is
required to collect school climate data for students, parents/guardians,
and staff.
The survey is a twice-annual school climate survey (administered in October & March) that will be used to support data driven, student-assisted Equity and Mental Health & Wellness plans in all schools. Students in Grades 4-12 will be invited to participate in a short (8 question) survey administered in-class. The survey link will be sent to student email accounts.
The 2024 spring survey, will be administered from March 18-28.
The survey asks questions about:
- school safety
- belonging
- mental health and well-being
- skill development
- extra-curricular activities and sports.
